We have an amazing opportunity for you - we're hiring for an Apprentice Public Health Practitioner role!

The Opportunity

Salary: £27,334 to £29,777 per annum.

Contract: Apprenticeship for 3.5 years.

Hours: Full time, 37 per week with 6 hours contributing to your apprenticeship.

Location: County Hall, Chichester. With hybrid working opportunities available.

We're looking for an Apprentice Public Health Practitioner to support the efficient development, delivery and monitoring of public health programmes and projects.

You will undertake a public health degree as a core part of the job and work towards public health register (UKPHR) portfolio for Public Health Practitioners.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will get the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, learning the ropes and gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a variety of settings. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders to maximise health improvement and reduce inequalities in health.

You'll have the opportunity to develop public health knowledge, experience and skills through a structured practitioner training programme.

What we need from you

  • Organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to undertake research, collate findings and summarise evidence.
  • Ability to present information clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as demonstrating use of own initiative.
  • A-levels (or equivalent) with grades (or expected grades) of B's & C's to achieve a minimum 112 UCAS points.
  • GCSE in Maths and English Language grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Relevant and recent voluntary / personal / work experience related to health, health promotion or social care settings.
  • Enthusiasm to undertake placements and/or projects to gain a broad understanding across the three domains of public health.
  • Computer literate.
