Field Service Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a large housing association who require a Fire service engineer to join there team.

This is a mobile role and based in Somerset and the surrounding area.

Salary £33,986 to £37,762 DOE.

Purpose of the role:

As a Fire Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing and repairs to fire and life safety systems at multiple sites to ensure a high level of fire safety is provided to our customers across the somerset and surrounding areas

Qualifications:

  • Fire Equipment Servicing Qualification or evidence of time served in a similar role.
  • Level 3 NVQ (either City & Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2 or City & Guilds 2330 2351 levels 2 and 3) (or equivalent). (D)
  • AM1 and AM2. (D)
  • City & Guilds 2382-12 18th Edition. (D)

To be considered for the role of Fire Service Engineer, you will:

  • Comprehensive understanding of BS5839:1, BS5839:6, BS5266:1 and BS7671 and ideally holding a qualification in fire safety systems maintenance.
  • Experience using domestic sprinkler systems. (D)
  • Competent in using and updating a handheld smart phone or Tablet PC and associated apps.
  • Experience of working in customers' homes. (D)
  • Good knowledge of fire safety legislation, regulation and guidance.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, to resolve issues and proactively to avoid problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Have a flexible and willing approach to work.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (this will be checked with the DVLA).
  • Availability to out of hours call out rota.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience within the Fire Maintenance industry.
  • Be aware of, and have regard for, trade-related environmental issues.
  • Being the first point of contact with our customers and helping to ensure customer satisfaction.
