Project Officer

An experienced Project Officer is required to support the Leisure Contracts management team within a Bexleyheath based local authority. The role involves assisting in the effective monitoring and management of the Leisure PPP contract and supporting the development of physical activity and sport opportunities aligned with corporate outcomes and strategic policy objectives.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist the Leisure Contracts Manager in monitoring and managing the Leisure PPP contract to ensure contractual compliance and achievement of outcomes.
- Support senior managers in developing opportunities for physical activity and sport that align with wider corporate and strategic policies.
- Conduct leisure-based research to stay informed on opportunities and key performance indicators for service planning and improvement.
- Manage special projects, including one-off capital or revenue programmes within the Sport and Leisure Team.
- Support the management of the CCTV contract.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the leisure sector to inform strategic direction and service development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in project management within a local authority or public sector leisure environment.
- Ability to undertake detailed research and analysis in the leisure sector.
- Strong understanding of physical activity strategies and action plans.
- Proven ability to work effectively in partnership with various stakeholders to achieve contractual compliance and desired outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
