Senior Shift Manager

Great opportunity in the Darlington area for a Senior Shift Manager to join an expanding 3PL provider to the retail sector. Leading a team of Shift Managers and Team Leaders you will support the DC Manager with the day-to-day management of the operation. The role calls for a results-oriented leader who will ensure standards are met, operational efficiencies are maximised, and resources are planned / controlled - all within strict budgetary parameters and stringent timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coaching to the site management teams.
- Drive site development through continuous improvement and site efficiency initiatives.
- Management of the targeted budget cost for your shift, ensuring delivery of KPIs.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to optimise DC activities and interface with other areas such as Transport and Supply Chain.
- Manage employee absence or misconduct - chairing investigation and disciplinary meetings as necessary.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Excellent people management skills.
- Proven DC management experience gained within a similar FMCG environment.
- Sound knowledge of cost reports, budgets and operational efficiencies including cost management.
- Ability to multi-task across a range of activities often with conflicting timescales.
- The ability to perform well in a fast-paced ever-changing and demanding environment.
