Cluster Manager

We are looking for a Cluster Manager (12 month maternity cover) to lead, manage and develop high quality family support services across your prisons ensuring we provide dedicated support, information and where appropriate signposting through our welcoming and family friendly Visitor Centre's. The Cluster Manager will have overall responsibility for recruitment, induction and training of new staff. In addition to coordinating, and supervising staff to ensure our services are reaching appropriate standards and achieving relevant outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Responsibilities of a Cluster Manager:

  • To lead, manage and have overall responsibility for designated service(s) and associated projects, coordinating, recruiting, inducting, training, supervising and developing staff and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure the service delivery is in accordance with the relevant HMPPS contract specification for each establishment across the cluster responding to challenges and or deficiencies as required.
  • Prepare quarterly HMPPS KPI returns for submission to central HMPPS Family Services.
  • Undertake quarterly KPI review meetings with HMP Head of Re-offending and or Head of Operations across your cluster.
  • Line management of Team Leaders within each of the establishments.
  • Overall management of staffing teams across the cluster.
  • Financial responsibility & Budget management for your cluster.
  • Regular travel will be required across all of the establishments within the cluster.

Skills and experience of a Cluster Manager:

  • Regular travel will be required across all of the establishments within the cluster
  • A relevant professional or vocational qualification (minimum NVQ level 3) or equivalent.
  • Basic management qualification or evidence of management experience across multi-site operations.
  • Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Experience of financial planning, monitoring and control of budgets.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Experience of or a good understanding of a customer service model
