Part time (minimum 21 hrs/wk), permanent

Based Horizons (Reading, Berkshire)

Salary range £22,200 to £24,600 (£37,000 to £41,000 FTE) pa plus benefits

We are looking for an experienced and pro-active Executive Assistant to support our Vice Chancellor. The Executive Support Team is busy and fast-paced, and you will assist with wide-ranging administrative tasks whilst supporting our Vice Chancellor and optimising his busy schedule. We are seeking a professional and reliable individual who can manage a diverse and varied workload, including handling sensitive and confidential information. This is a pivotal role, and you must have previous relevant experience in a high level secretarial or administrative role, with sound knowledge of the higher education sector. Our ambition is to become the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education and the years ahead will be exciting as we work to realise this vision.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Undertake proactive diary management to ensure an effective and balanced schedule at all times.
  • Draft correspondence as required and liaise regularly with the marketing department on PR opportunities relative to the Vice Chancellor's activities.
  • Collate, assemble and print meeting papers and ensure the Vice Chancellor is fully prepared and briefed appropriately ahead of all meetings.
  • Provide excellent and responsive customer service when responding to both internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.

Our main requirements:

  • Experience in a similar administrative role for c-suite executive team, gained within an office environment.
  • Professional approach and manner, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Significant experience of MS Office which includes Teams, Outlook (calendar and email), Word (creating and formatting documents), Excel (data entry and spreadsheet formatting), and PowerPoint (preparing slide decks).
