BSL Classroom Assistant

Horizon Teachers are looking for a BSL-qualified Teaching Assistant to work with a prestigious deaf school in North London. The school are looking for support staff with a minimum British Sign Language Level 2 qualification to join the school starting full-time in September. They are ideally looking for communication workers that have previous experience supporting children with partial to no hearing.

The site in question is a very well-regarded school for deaf children and teachers alike. They pride themselves on their philosophy of teaching English and British Sign Language with equal importance. The school is a nationally recognised centre of excellence and are currently looking for staff to join their team and work 1:1 with students.

Requirements:

  • BSL Level 2 qualification is essential.
  • BSL Level 3 or Higher is desirable with additional responsibility available.
  • Hearing is not essential, and the school will happily employ staff with partial to no hearing.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational environment is ideal.
