Catering Assistant
Location - Bramley (near Guildford)
Salary - £12.05
Hours - 2pm or 3pm till 8pm - Monday-Fridays (Term Time Only 40 weeks per year)
Our client who are a private school are looking for a Catering Assistant to help run the small forum café on site. This is a small tuck shop like café where you will be mainly dealing with serving of sandwiches and paninis as well as hot and cold drinks up until 6.30pm, then you will help assist in the main kitchen with supper service.
Duties of the Catering Assistant
- Works as part of the catering team to prepare food for service
- Prepares service and dining areas as instructed by line manager Prepares light refreshments and beverages as instructed by line manager
- Receives and stores products properly
- Actively seeks to improve skills and achieve personal development
- Ensure minimum food wastage
- Assist in ensuring stock is rotated and controlled
- Creative with food presentation and preparation
- Assist in temperature records and monitoring is completed on a daily basis
- Ensure area(s) under control are cleaned as per cleaning schedule Operate catering equipment
- Prepare and participate in special functions (which may be outside normal working hours) and 'theme days' (and dishes) as required
- Attends training sessions as required
- Complies with all statutory and company health and safety practices and procedures, including manual handling
- Adheres to all company rules, regulations, policies, procedures and provisions of contract
- As and when required, carries out additional tasks concerned with the operation of the establishment
- Provide service in conjunction with company 'SMILE' programme
