An exciting opportunity has arisen, Hays has partnered with a leading Property Management Company based in Cheltenham. We are now looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to support our client on a full time and permanent basis, in their finance team.
The working hours for this role will be, Monday to Friday, working from 9am until 5:30pm, including an hour lunch break and the salary on offer is up to £27500.
Your new role
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:
- Processing Purchase invoices, including the following:
- Liaising with clients to resolve potential queries
- Using Xero for the processing and invoicing of invoices
- To uphold their invoicing system
- To effectively communicate with the Accounts Payable team for paying invoices
- Dealing with bank reconciliation
- To record supplier invoices, payment transactions and credit notes
- To prepare and process supplier payments, for example; BACS and cheques
- Dealing with reports, as well as preparing ad-hoc reports as required
- You will also monitor and report on aged creditor balances, identifying potential issues for management review
- Supporting colleagues who are also within the Accounting and Finance team with general admin duties
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a successful candidate in light of the Accounts Assistant position, you will need:
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting packages
- Ability to uphold confidentiality of information
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- It is desirable for you to have previous experience working in a finance department
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ideally, you will have knowledge of HMRC rules and requirements
