Salary: £677 per week, including shift allowance
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working hours: Shift system of 4 days on followed by 4 days off, average 40.36 hours per week, 6am-6pm
One minute you might be signing in a visitor, the next letting a driver know that their vehicle is too heavy... You've got to be great at communicating in this busy job at our Colnbrook Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), a plant where mixed recyclables like cardboard and cans are separated from non-recyclable waste. You'll be based in the weighbridge office, alongside the weighbridge: like a large set of scales that vehicles drive over, enabling you to accurately record weight data on a computer system, so you'll need to be tech-savvy too.
What you'll be doing as Weighbridge Operator
- Identifying the customer account and material being transported and ensuring that the right details (e.g. vehicle registration) are recorded.
- Checking paperwork.
- Keeping the weighbridge balanced and reading zero.
- Making sure that that all drivers and visitors are wearing protective clothing.
What you'll need
Excellent numeracy, literacy and computer skills are a must, and weighbridge experience is a bonus, but we'll give you all the training you need.
