The Senior Transport Planner Role

Lead a team of 9 and manage the TFL & DfT transport budget.

Develop and implement the borough transport strategy.

Foster a result-oriented, customer-focused work culture.

Ensure continuous personal development and equal opportunities promotion.

Deliver high-quality planning services to internal and external stakeholders.

Manage various strategic and operational tasks, including:

Strategy Development and Borough Transport Plan
-
Cycling and Walking Strategy, E Travel, and Charging
-
Corridor Plans, Masterplan Areas, and Station Programmes
-
Highway plans, Town Centre initiatives, and Streetscape Programme
-
Oversee LIPs Programme, School Streets, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods

Cycling Programme, Electric Charging, Bus Priority, Behaviour Change
-
Schools and Travel Plan Programme, Cycle Training, Road Safety
-
Programme Management, including TFL Portal Allocations and funding bids
The Senior Transport Planner
Ideal Candidate:
-
Educational Background:
-
Degree in Transport Planning or related fields such as Engineering, Geography, or Town and City Planning.

Alternatively, entry through an apprenticeship.

Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable.

Professional Experience:

Proven ability to lead a Transport Planning team and deliver innovative solutions.

Experience managing complex projects in high-pressure environments.
