Accountant

We have partnered with a global real-estate firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team in London. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance and accounting, who is ready to take on the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Collaborate with stakeholders within and outside finance functions in Europe to ensure the timely delivery of financial accounts.
- Review monthly local reporting packs, bank reconciliations, and statutory financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and reporting packs.
- Prepare management fees and charges for review by the Finance Manager.
- Support ongoing procurements and payments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage interbank fund transfers.
- Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Provide ad hoc financial reports and assistance as required by the group finance team.
- Support statutory audits and internal audit processes.
- Prepare and review regulatory filings such as VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and other relevant taxes.
- Monitor tax law developments and prepare responses to changes.
- Implement compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Optimize accounting, reporting, and forecasting systems.
- Support teams with various IT systems and onboard new vendors.
- Manage bank mandates and online banking access controls.
- Upload and review payments/invoices to banking platforms or accounting systems as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Study towards a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in an audit/accounting environment.
- Experience in the global European real estate sector is advantageous.
- Knowledge of real estate accounting software such as Yardi, MRI/Horizon, or other accounting packages is desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Solution-driven with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
