Business Development Assistant

Team structure

The international business development and marketing team focuses on the pillars of client development; practice group and sector business development; and brand, marketing and communications.

This role will sit within our practice group and sector business development team, focusing on supporting the firm's EPPICC practice group (comprising the Employment, Pensions, Private Wealth, Immigration, Contentious and Corporate Tax practice areas). The practice group has undergone significant growth in recent years, and continues to expand, providing a unique offering in the market for clients on contentious and non-contentious matters relating to work and wealth.

Main responsibilities

  • Work with the BD manager to support the EPPICC practice areas in their day-to-day business development activity
  • Assist with the production of marketing/credentials documents and competitive pitches concurrently, drafting persuasive and accurate content with tailored messages, often to tight deadlines
  • Support the production of Legal 500, Chambers and other directory submissions, in particular gathering and collating information internally and editing
  • Create, distribute and update brochures, newsletters, social media and other marketing collateral
  • Work with the BD manager and the Events team to produce and deliver outstanding client events, from initial inception to follow-up and reporting
  • Provide support for strategic initiatives including major campaigns and developing areas of the practice
  • Work collaboratively with BD colleagues across the London and international offices, building relationships to maintain good visibility of firm-wide activity and promote the work of the practice group
  • Liaise with the communications and PR team and support the media plan for the different practice areas
  • Support a number of ongoing tracking projects, both gathering and inputting information and running regular reports for review
  • Work closely with the BD manager to help partners on cementing and further developing profitable revenue growth on their key client relationships
  • Work with the InterAction executive to champion best practice of InterAction, our CRM system, within the groups
  • Liaising with the BD Executive assistant and EAs on various tasks to help support you in achieving the above

Attributes / skills required

You will be of graduate calibre with experience of working in a professional services environment. A history of working in business development and/or the above practice areas is not essential, but a keen and demonstrable interest in BD is.
