For a lovely International HNW couple we are looking for a full-time permanent experienced Housekeeper/ Laundress, based in Tallinn, Estonia with a well appointed, self-contained apartment provided. Driving not required. This is a permanent full-time role with some travel. Luxury Assets placed the Travelling Butler with this couple at the beginning of the year.

The couple live in a beautiful modern 540m² penthouse apartment on the outskirts of Tallinn, Estonia with a large roof top terrace, all stylishly decorated, bespoke with a lot of attention to detail. There are light carpets, art work and large window areas. They also own a small office, a studio and other apartments all within the same building as the penthouse, some only require occasional cleaning. Other properties are two stunning town houses in Central Amsterdam and a beautiful villa in the Caribbean.
Although this is a full-time residence it is possible that the couple travel for 2-3 weeks or several months at a time as their lifestyle is very fluid. During this time they require the Housekeeper/ Laundress to continue caring for their properties in Tallinn OR to travel to one of the other properties to assist there for 3-4 days at a time. The couple occasionally have a small number of guests stay over.
Up until now a local cleaning company provided the cleaning services and this role has been created in order to acknowledge the individual preferences and requirements to ensure a much higher standard of housekeeping is provided. The couple relish the smooth running of a household with attention to detail and are very appreciative of it. Other staff consist of the Travelling Butler, a Private Chef and a Maintenance Man. They own one medium sized 3 year old dog.
The Housekeeper/ Laundress reports to the Travelling Butler. The household is run semi formally (black trousers and polo shirts) and more formally when entertaining guests. Polo-shirts to be supplied and discussed.
Duties of the Housekeeper/ Laundress:
- All housekeeping duties (vacuuming, mopping, wiping, dusting, polishing)
- Cleaning bathrooms and stocking up on toiletries
- Taking care of laundry, changing of bedding frequently, towels, etc.
- Hand washing delicate items or getting items dry cleaned
- Ironing and steaming of clothing (including shirts and bedding)
- Managing wardrobes and assist with packing if needed
- Tidying of dressing area
- Readying rooms for guest arrival with small detail
- Refreshing water of flower displays daily
- Cleaning windows
- Wiping tables on terrace
- Assisting to decorate and help out at special occasions
- Reporting any repairs that are required
- Assisting with service very occasionally (training provided)
- Travelling to other properties abroad to assist
- Deep cleaning when couple are away
- Liaise with Travelling Butler
- Running errands if required
Requirements:
- Min of 3 years' experience as a housekeeper for private households or 5 star hotels (some training may be provided)
- Excellent knowledge of housekeeping with a high sense for cleanliness and hygiene
- Competent in laundry care and ironing
- Must be legal to work in the EU
- Fluency in English
- Be independent, able to relocate to Tallinn, Estonia (assistance is provided to obtain residency)
- Must have an acute eye for detail
- Be able to work as part of a team and fit in well
- Recent security check
- Written references from past employers
For the Housekeeper / Laundress role, we are looking for candidates who are great communicators, well presented, flexible, responsive, able to take the initiative and work independently with excellent time keeping. This is a lovely, personable couple to work for and they are looking for someone equally personable, as well as trustworthy and hard-working, able to commit to a long term role.
For accommodation a well-appointed self-contained one bedroom apartment (separate kitchen/ living room) is provided locally and all bills are paid for. Transport to get to work is covered, if needed (there is no long arduous commute). A staff car is available during the week for work. It takes 15 min. to ride into Tallinn by bike. The area offers many sportive activities, particularly during the summer.
Accommodation and travel expenses while travelling are always covered.
Very occasionally some work may be required at the weekend which is compensated with time in lieu.
Paid trials take place in Amsterdam or Tallinn (incl. all travel expenses).
Hours: Mon -Fri, 8am - 5pm (with an hour for lunch) with some flexibility if the couple are entertaining (time in lieu is given). This reduces to 4-5 hours Mon- Fri when the couple are travelling.
**Salary:**€50000 - € 55000 gross/ year, live-in (separate self-contained apartment) depending on experience plus holidays and bonus. The role is offered under an Estonian contract.
