Warehouse Team Manager - Nights

About the role... Join Poundland as a Warehouse Team Manager on our weekend shift at the Harlow Distribution Centre. You will lead a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring that stock is received, assembled, and loaded efficiently. Your leadership will be crucial in meeting our key performance indicators (KPIs), delivering accurate, timely, and safe operations, and ensuring our stores and customers receive the right products at the right time.

Working Shift Pattern:

Week 1- 7pm – 7am Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Week 2 – 7PM – 7am - Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Your Impact and Responsibilities... As a Warehouse Team Manager on the night shift, your role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership: Inspire and lead your team to achieve productivity targets, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the safe handling of products.

Health & Safety: Champion a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring compliance with legal standards and safe working practices.

Performance Management: Monitor and enhance team performance, conducting regular reviews and providing ongoing training to develop your team.

Operational Efficiency: Manage resources effectively, ensuring trailers are maximised for cost-efficiency, and all operations adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager, and other key stakeholders to deliver the daily plan and meet wider operational needs.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, driving initiatives that reduce costs and environmental impact.

Skills and Knowledge... To succeed in this role, you will need:

Experience: Proven experience in managing teams within a distribution or FMCG environment.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of distribution operations, including legislation, Health & Safety law, and financial management.

Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-pressure environment.

Analytical Skills: Competence in monitoring performance metrics and producing accurate reports.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with Kronos, Vitesse, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is advantageous.
