Reynolds Catering Supplies is one of the leading fresh fruit & vegetable suppliers to the foodservice industry and due to an increase in business, we are looking to recruit two experienced Fresh Produce Buyers.
As a Fresh Produce Buyer you will source, negotiate, and purchase fresh produce for the organisation. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring product quality specifications are met, and maintaining cost efficiency.
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with some flexibility to meet demands of the business)
Accountabilities:
- Developing category strategies for allocated categories.
- Adhere to the overall procurement policies and procedures.
- Source potential suppliers, visiting, and meeting existing suppliers, building, and maintaining relationships.
- Negotiate best price on key product categories, ensuring quality and technical requirements are met.
- Manage Supplier relationships both home and abroad.
- Manage key internal relationships with Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, Logistics and the Quality teams.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are met.
- Research and source new products.
To be successful in your application you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience.
- Demonstrable procurement experience within fresh produce categories.
- Ideally degree educated.
- Professional Procurement qualification – CIPS or equivalent.
- Strong capability in analysis and use of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
- Significant experience within the wholesale or foodservice sector.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Solid negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial and market awareness.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
