Political Organiser/Coordinator

We are working on behalf of Darlington Liberal Democrats who are looking to appoint a part time Organiser/Coordinator to be responsible for digital and content creation of literature, organisation of action days and general communications with party members. The postholder may be able to work on a Freelance or PAYE basis on a hybrid basis with some time needing to be in Darlington. The postholder would be expected to be supportive of Liberal Democrat values, if not a card carrying member.

The main objective of the post is to coordinate the local party's campaigning between now and the 2027 local elections and would include:

  • The design of leaflets, surveys, target letters
  • Organisation of canvassing, leaflet and survey activity
  • Support of canvassing, surveying, leafleting activity.
  • Coordinate the contact and follow up of leads to convert to activists
  • Help build the profile of three Councellors
  • Help build of a team of activists around these Councellors
  • Support case work for target wards
  • Help in the development local party policy.
  • Improve liaison with council group
  • Coordinate press releases for the local party and Council Group.
  • Improve communication with membership
  • Facilitate the development of a 6 - 12 month plan

Experience required:

  • Previous experience in utilising databases / CRM's
  • Experience working with publishing software
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be available a few Saturdays during the year to support action days in Darlington

This is a part time role with the requirement of 20 - 25 hours per week on an initial 6 month term on a freelance or PAYE basis.
