Position: Sales Assistant
Location: Reeled In, 103 Rochford Road, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 6SR
Hours:
- Initial: Tuesday & Thursday, 9am-5pm (including a 30-minute lunch break), with occasional weekend work until September
- From September onwards: Full-time role
About Us:
We are an independent local family business specialising in fishing tackle and bait. As we expand our team, we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us and contribute to our growing success.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
- Restocking shelves
- Stock control
- Ordering stock
- Overseeing deliveries
- Maintaining shop cleanliness
- Displaying products
- Greeting customers
- Helping customers find items
Additional Responsibilities from September Onwards:
- Assisting with online orders
- Handling customer enquiries and orders through our online platform
- Packing and despatching online orders
- Managing stock levels for both in-store and online inventory
- Coordinating with couriers and logistics partners
Must Have:
- Great communication skills
- Good common sense & initiative
- Very good knowledge of all-round general fishing
- Good computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Good time management
- Approachable and friendly manner
- Ability to work within a team
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive
Salary:
- Minimum wage based on age group:
- £11.44 per hour for workers aged 21 and over
- £8.60 per hour for workers aged 18-20
Monthly Earnings:
- For workers aged 21 and over: £11.44 per hour x 16 hours per week x 4 weeks = approximately £732.16 per month (initial part-time)
- Full-time (from September): £11.44 per hour x 40 hours per week x 4 weeks = approximately £1,830.40 per month
