Alexander Daniels Credit Division are pleased to be recruiting for a German Speaking Credit Controller on behalf of our client who are multi-billion and recognised as a leader in its industry. You will be joining the European Credit Control team in Nottingham City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the continued success of a household iconic brand by ensuring efficient credit and collection operations across key markets.
This role is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home
Role Overview:
In this role, you'll manage credit risk and accounts receivable processes for a portfolio of customers, ensuring accurate account maintenance, timely cash collection, and proactive issue resolution-all while supporting sales growth and adhering to credit policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess credit risk for new and existing customers by gathering and reviewing relevant financial information.
- Set and maintain customer credit limits in line with company policies.
- Ensure the prompt and accurate setup of new customer accounts and processing of data changes in systems (e.g. SAP/JBA).
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries in a timely manner.
- Manage accounts receivable within terms and credit limits, including follow-up on overdue balances and issuing reminder letters.
- Ensure accurate allocation of payments, credit notes, and journals to maintain reconciled accounts.
- Maintain comprehensive customer records, tracking actions taken to recover outstanding balances.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on receivables status to team leadership and senior finance management.
About You:
- Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Ideally some experience in credit control or accounts receivable, or a strong background in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a logical mindset.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across departments and regions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Minimum of GCSE-level education including Maths and English.
