Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a TV and Film production business to support their search for a Commercial Head of Finance.

The Business

Our client is a renowned Media & Entertainment business that is on the way to becoming a household name. Their impressive slate of work and exciting project pipeline position them to be a leader in high-end content, providing a stage for independent directors and producers to bring much-beloved projects to light. Based in several countries internationally, this business is paving the way to become a powerhouse in the industry, working with major names in the Entertainment world to create awe-inspiring scripted TV and exciting, dramatic films.

The Role:

As Commercial Head of Finance, you'll oversee the day to day running of the finance and accounting function of the business, as well as providing commercial analysis, budgeting support, cashflow analysis, and forecast creation to support the organization's strategic aims.

Reporting to a talented CFO, this role provides a great, broad, and dynamic opportunity for a technically strong Head of Finance to contribute to the impressive growth journey of an exciting TV and Film business. This role is quite dynamic and is very much what you make of it - the main priorities being managing the reporting and commercial side of the business while taking initiative to help update and revolutionize the systems and processes the business uses.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous financial leadership experience, with an emphasis on commercial finance as well being a technically strong accountant. A passion for media and TV and Film is important, as it's the crux of the business' culture. In addition, the ideal candidate will have both strong technical accounting skills as well as the ability to communicate efficiently with internal and external stakeholders. This is a broad commercial and technical role, so it's a great opportunity for a Head of Finance to get involved in all aspects of a dynamic and fast-growth business.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the finance function
  • Oversee the completion of Management Accounts, Month End, and Year End
  • Lead on financial and Board reporting
  • Create budgets and forecasts for the business to account for future changes or growth
  • Create and run financial models to support strategic decision making regarding the future of the business
  • Support with process improvement and system transformation
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the CFO and the Senior Leadership Team

What we need to see (essential):

  • Previous experience in the TV/Film/Entertainment industries
  • Strong commercial finance and financial modelling experience

What we'd like to see (bonus):

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project delivery

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000
