Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? A secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced School Safeguarding Officer to join their team starting in November 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure the safety and well-being of young learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Offer guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding issues.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of concern.
- Collaborate with external agencies, including social services and the police.
- Deliver safeguarding training for staff members.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and attend multi-agency meetings as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in safeguarding, ideally in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and external partners.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions.
- A commitment to promoting the welfare of young people.
