Academics is pleased to be collaborating with a friendly and caring College based in Chelmsford, Essex to recruit an Life Skills Tutor this September on a permanent, full-time contract.

As a Life Skills Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals by providing them with the necessary skills to thrive in their daily lives.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the national curriculum. Their role will be to inspire younger students and help them achieve their full potential.

Situated in the heart of Chelmsford, this College offers excellent commuting options with public transport just a stone's throw away!

Requirements:

  • * Have substantial experience in the Further Education and Training sector
  • * Hold a UK recognised teaching qualification (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education)
  • * Have previous experience working as a Lecturer, Teacher or Tutor and a successful record in retention and achievement
  • * Hold GCSEs in both Maths and English, at grade A-C or equivalent
  • * A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • * Right to Work in the UK
  • * Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
  • * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • * Previous experience working the UK

Responsibilities:

  • * Plan, deliver and assessing learners work, ensuring that all outcomes are met
  • * Tutor and educate individuals in various life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-care
  • * Provide guidance and support to individuals in developing independence and self-confidence
  • * Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons in line with College policies
  • * Assist individuals in developing social skills and building positive relationships
  • * Deliver engaging lessons and spread your passion onto the next generation
  • * Manage classroom behaviour ensuring learners stay on task
