QHSE Manager

We are looking for a motivated QHSE Manager to join a market leader in their respective industry. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be entrusted to lead parts of the business right from the start with responsibility for key results and involve managing hard and soft services, site and facilities maintenance, HSE group and improvement projects for the site. The position will appeal to a strong HSEQ professional looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.

Key responsibilities...

  • Work with the Board to devise and deliver the full QHSE strategy.
  • Act as a responsible person for all QHSE matters across the company.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of QHSE policy and governance arrangements to ensure compliance with legislation, minimise risk and support company requirements.
  • Ensure management controls are in place so that everyone is aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are investigated, reported and reviewed as necessary, making recommendations where appropriate and filing any statutory reports (RIDDOR) with the authorities, including liaison with HSE/local environmental health.
  • Ensure the RAMS and COSHH matrices are kept up to date; ensure all assessments are periodically reviewed.

What we're looking for...

  • Relevant qualification/certification - eg NEBOSH; IOSH; etc.
  • 5-10 years proven experience in QHSE management (mid-senior management) within construction/manufacturing
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering QHSE improvements.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and financial principles.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire others.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure and is a good critical thinker.
