What you'll do:
- Review previous rents, administration records, and spreadsheets meticulously to ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date for effective decision-making.
- Analyse all elements of rent structures, identifying trends or discrepancies that may impact overall financial performance.
- Contact local tradespeople, suppliers, and customers regularly to verify actual rental expenses and maintain transparent communication channels.
- Liaise with local councils to confirm council tax bandings and ensure full compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work closely with Operations teams to align property portfolio costs with established budgets and organisational objectives.
- Build and maintain comprehensive rental records and generate regular reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
- Organise and actively participate in rent meetings, contributing insights on cost management and process improvements.
- Prepare and submit monthly KPI reports that reflect key performance indicators related to rent collection, budget adherence, and compliance.
- Handle new rents and amendments efficiently by coordinating CRM integration for rents and managing all associated administrative tasks.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by providing accurate financial data, assisting with reconciliations, and preparing necessary documentation.
What you bring:
- Demonstrate strong analytical abilities paired with advanced numerical skills that enable you to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as other financial reporting tools essential for creating detailed spreadsheets and insightful reports.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills that allow you to liaise effectively with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders such as local councils or suppliers.
- Possess up-to-date knowledge of rental regulations including council tax policies along with contract management principles relevant to property finance.
- Display exceptional attention to detail combined with the capacity to work independently while meeting deadlines consistently.
- Bring proven negotiation skills that help resolve discrepancies or queries related to budget variances or housing benefit claims efficiently.
- Maintain a high level of integrity coupled with discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information within the organisation.
- Hold a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Have prior experience in rent management processes such as accounts receivable or credit control within property finance environments.
- Familiarity with budgeting techniques-especially Zero-Based Budgeting-and customer management practices would be advantageous.
