Job Purpose:
This role will focus on defining and leading the legislation validation roadmap with plans to achieve test compliance of the existing and future planned ADAS features to be deployed. You'll lead, where appropriate, the relevant ADAS type approval activities (e.g., technical documentation and certification witness test with Authorities).
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor regulation and communicate to ADAS design team to avoid any compliance issues.
- Engage in lobbying activities to reflect AML's strategic interest in upcoming requirements.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify preferences for future product regulations.
- Support the specific development of new technologies or systems by providing regulatory expertise and interpretation of regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance of the ADAS and AV product with all legal requirements in the jurisdictions of interest.
- Ensure that the technical development understands and embeds the regulatory requirements in the ADAS product.
- Work with the Legal and Compliance team when engaging with external authorities (e.g., Idaida/VCA) for the type approval tests and associated technical documentation.
- Represent AML in the relevant law-making committees in the relevant jurisdictions.
- Understand and translate test methodologies to support standards compliance and test evidence required to present to the certification authorities.
- Perform vehicle test execution in support of ADAS pre-homologation testing at appropriate test facilities.
Stakeholder Relationships:
- Internally interface with all members of the ADAS team and the wider AML Legal and Compliance team.
- Externally interface with test facility providers (such as MIRA/Milbrook/Idiada) and certification authorities.
