We are seeking a dedicated Community Fundraiser to join an innovative and ambitious research charity. This role is pivotal in helping us achieve our strategic objectives, including increasing national investment in brain tumour research and establishing a network of Research Centres of Excellence across the UK. As a Community Fundraiser for the East Midlands region, you will be instrumental in generating and growing our income through various community fundraising activities, aiming to contribute to a regional team target of over £1.4 million.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Engage and support individuals, challenge event participants, fundraising groups, and Charity of the Year partnerships in their fundraising efforts.
  • Raise awareness of our work, recruit new supporters, and provide excellent stewardship to our existing supporter base.
  • Research and manage a pipeline of community fundraising opportunities within the East Midlands region.
  • Attend networking events to represent the organisation and build relationships to broaden our supporter base.
  • Communicate impact, share case studies, and engage supporters in activities to strengthen their relationship with the charity.
  • Support the formation and development of volunteer fundraising groups to maximise funds raised.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support local fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintain and build relationships with current and new supporters.
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising team and other departments to generate ideas and solutions to meet financial targets.
  • Keep our CRM database updated with information about our supporters and their fundraising activities.
  • Engage with medical teams at neuro hospitals within your area to organise information stands on brain tumour clinic days.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community fundraising, donor management, and stewardship.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse sensitively and empathetically.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in meeting financial targets.
  • Proficiency in presenting information to groups and individuals.
  • Experience working with a CRM/database and MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Charity Law, GDPR, and the Fundraising Regulator.
  • Access to a car and a full driving licence is ideal but not essential.
