We are pleased to be representing our client, who are a friendly and established animal charity as they seek to recruit a Cattery Supervisor to join their team at their amazing site based close to Hassocks. This is a unique role and also comes with free 'live in' bungalow accommodation on site!! You can also live off site if you live near to the centre.

Cattery Supervisor

Full time permanent role with FREE 'live on site' accommodation. You can also live off site if you live near to the centre.

Mon-Fri only 35 hours per week

Role based close to Hassocks. Due to rural location of the workplace, you will need to be a driver and have your own transport. There is plenty of free parking on site.

Salary £400 per week or £20800 per annum, plus free live in / on site accommodation (if required). The accommodation includes the water bill. The job holder will need to pay all other utility bills. A partner / friend can also live on site with the job holder. You can also live off site if you live near to the centre.

The role - Cattery Supervisor

Rescue Centre Supervisor required for a charitable cat rescue centre in Mid Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the centre.

Experience in all aspects of cat care is essential preferably gained with a veterinary practice or boarding / rescue centre. Good organisational skills are required together with the ability to communicate effectively with the centre staff and the general public.

Responsibility for ensuring the Rescue Centre is run efficiently and caring for the overall needs and welfare of the rescue cats.

Duties will include:

To allocate duties to staff at the beginning of each day.

Check telephone messages each morning and take necessary action or pass to the appropriate person.

Check information leaflet outside of each pen and refer to the food and medication boards for instructions.

Prepare food

Remove all feed bowls rinse thoroughly and put in dishwasher, using fresh dishes feed the cats.

Prepare and dispense daily medication for the cats.

Clean and disinfect pens, refresh water bowls, check all beds, ensure bedding is clean

Remove litter trays and empty in bin provided and replace with new if required. Disinfect old litter trays

Liaise with vets making appointments and transporting cats to and from the vets.

Prepare the paperwork involved in either accepting a cat from the public or re-homing one.

Prepare the list of any cats needing to be seen by the vets on their visits

Order food and medication from appropriate supplier ensuring there is always adequate stock.

Ensure cats are regularly groomed and have claws clipped.

Micro-chip cats prior to re-homing and complete the necessary paperwork

Meet on a monthly basis with Management and Trustees

Observe cats individually to report back to the trustees with regard to the type of home needed.

Show people round the rescue centre

Liaise with weekend staff and shift leaders

Organise cover for staff re - annual leave / sickness.
