SEND & Exam Access Arrangements Advisor

Pertemps are thrilled to be working alongside a well established College who are looking to expand their Additional Learning Support Team. Your role as SEND & Exam Access Arrangements Advisor will be to make sure that learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities have the correct level of support to ensure they have an equal access to achieving successful outcomes.

Main duties:

  • Carry out the relevant specialist exam access arrangement assessments for learners where required; including Wide Range Achievement Testing (WRAT's), and the associated reports in-line with the JCQ Regulations.
  • Ensure that ALS disclosures are screened timely and additional learning support appointments are conducted.
  • Identify, assess and recommend ALS strategies to reduce barriers to learning, considering recommendations from EHCPs, referrals, disclosures and the learner and family's needs and wishes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure early identification of learners' individual support needs in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and wider support departments to ensure the ALS recommendations are deployed and learners are supported as per their ALS plans and EHCP's.

Required skills and experience:

  • A specialist qualification in SEND subject area i.e. learning difficulties/disabilities, including the necessary specialist qualification to carry out exam access arrangement assessments including sound knowledge of the JCQ regulations
  • Safeguarding, Prevent and E&D (Training up-to-date)
  • A minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy/Equivalent
  • Understanding of Additional Learning Support within an educational or training context
  • Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
