They are seeking an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior (with Tax experience) to join their team and take their career to the next level.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks across accounts, audit, and tax. Your primary duties will include:

Accounts:

  • Handling accounts for limited companies, LLPs, sole traders, partnerships, and pension schemes.
  • Completing planning sections in line with office guidelines.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Preparing accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances using software such as Sage, Xero, and Quickbooks.
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries.
  • Reviewing work with a supervisor and completing files, including reporting packs.

Audit:

  • Conducting internal and external audits.
  • Planning, assessing controls and risks, setting materiality and sample sizes.
  • Performing fieldwork testing, including stock take attendance and other site verifications.
  • Conducting analytical reviews and completing audit files.

Tax:

  • Preparing personal tax returns,
  • VAT returns,
  • corporation tax computations and returns,
  • P11ds.

General:

  • Occasionally providing advisory work.
  • Handling correspondence from clients.
  • Reviewing the work of juniors, resolving technical queries, and ensuring files are complete before passing them to the manager.
  • Providing effective on-the-job training for semi-seniors and juniors.
  • Being aware of other LG services and products that may benefit your clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ACCA/ACA fully qualified is desirable.
  • A degree in accounting and finance is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of post-membership experience within a UK Partnership.
  • Up-to-date CPE and knowledge of recent developments in accounting standards.
  • Experience with OMBs across various industries.
  • Proficiency in computer packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, IIRIS, CCH, VT Transactions, Xero, Virtual Cabinet, and Quickbooks.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A technical approach to work with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Client-focused and commercially aware.
  • Positive and committed in dealings with both clients and staff.
  • Supervisory experience is essential.
