Job Description

Syntech Recruitment are currently working with one of the fastest growing privately-owned hotel groups in the UK who are looking for a Group Payroll Manager to manage a small team in their Head Office northwest of London.

  • As an experienced Group Payroll Manager you will manage a team of 4 (3 Payroll Administrators & 1 Assistant Payroll Manager) setting and reviewing KPI's and ensuring SLA's are adhered too.
  • You will provide expertise guidance, support to the payroll team and wider group, including developing best practice, policies, and procedures.
  • You will ensure that the payroll departments run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately and that up to 2,500 employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • You will maintain compliance with all company and regulatory requirements in relation to employee pay and benefits and build strong and trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively juggle the responsibilities linked with managing multiple projects at the same time
  • Build relationships with the stakeholders involved in the projects - helping to take them on the journey - keeping them informed
  • Deliver the projects in line with the set deadlines
  • Investigate and learn current payroll process and identify how this will be impacted by the proposed changes
  • Work closely with strategic leads and create project plans that outline the activity required to deliver the stated projects
  • Run shadow payroll runs in preparation for the launch

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Experience of successfully processing a monthly and weekly/biweekly payroll run for a similar sized organisation
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Close attention to detail when reviewing all pay related data
  • Ability to produce, analyse and summarise pay related data for reporting and ad-hoc requests
  • Strong knowledge on payroll legislation
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively with external suppliers

Requirements

  • Experience gained in the hospitality industry is desirable
  • Experience in Fourth payroll and Staffology will be an advantage.
  • Payroll qualification preferred but not essential
  • 5 plus years payroll experience.
  • Experience of managing teams in a similar role
  • Excellent Excel Skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables)
