Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex

A privately owned company with a varied real estate and business portfolio, recognised for strong market presence and continued growth. Based in Leigh-on-Sea, the business operates a busy Solicitors Enquiries Department dealing with legal matters relating to property management.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support legal processes relating to Service Charge and Ground Rent properties. This is a key role within the legal team, focusing on property transactions and administrative legal support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue sales information packs
- Respond to pre-contract sales enquiries (e.g., sales, remortgages, transfer of equity)
- Handle post-completion formalities including Notices of Transfer/Charge
- Update internal case management systems
- Draft and issue legal documents (e.g., Deeds of Covenant, Certificates of Compliance)
- Confirm financial clearance prior to sales completion
- Liaise with accounts and process incoming payments/cheques
- Organise and maintain digital records (e.g., Land Registry documents)
Person Specification:
- Minimum 1 year of legal experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume, deadline-driven caseload
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Litigation experience advantageous
