The Opportunity:

We are now seeking an Aquatic Epidemiologist who can carry out, support, lead and develop projects concerning salmon survivability, gill health and environmental challenges, and support teaching activities in the domain of general aquaculture and fish health. The post holder will be an expert in fish health and applied epidemiology. Quantitative analytic skills are desirable. Flexibility and good communication skills are an asset, as is familiarity with the Scottish salmon industry.

The job is a 1-year maternity-leave replacement, there may be opportunities to stay on.

The major elements of the role are to:

  • Provide applied aquatic epidemiological input in
  • collaborative projects.
  • Manage and develop projects.
  • Develop and support teaching activities focussed around aquaculture, aquatic epidemiology gill health, and fish health.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications required, is a PhD in (veterinary) epidemiology, health/animal health, agricultural, environmental, biological sciences. animal health, or in a closely related field (SCQF level 12).
