Environmental Engineer

The Role

As Environmental Engineer, you will work alongside specialists to conduct studies and devise innovative solutions on clean water projects. You'll be at the forefront of our most groundbreaking initiatives, with full access to our organisation and cutting-edge work. Utilising your expertise, you will to tackle unique engineering challenges within our industry and collaborate with other specialists to shape vital elements of Research and Development (R&D), Planning and Network Engineering activities within our Studies Programme. Your contributions will be pivotal to our success and will support us in fulfilling our objectives and achieving our ambitious plans in North West England, UK.

In-person site attendance in Lingley Mere, Warrington is required three days per week to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, alongside some travel to other sites in the North West and flexible hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role. The team will support your development to help you navigate increasingly complex projects and become a professional project manager, working towards chartered status with the Association for Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management and stakeholder collaboration to deliver engineering outcomes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and manage team dynamics effectively.
  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring compliance with technical and financial requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage project budgets, advocating for resources as needed.
  • Oversee contract documentation and act as a technical audit point of contact throughout project lifecycles.
  • With support from UU, become a chartered project manager with the Association for Project Management (APM)

Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant science and/or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC or higher) or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Experience of providing technical advice, influencing and directing the delivery of successful engineering outcomes
  • Hold a current Full UK driving licence
