Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Recruitment Vetting Team Leader to lead and develop a team of up to 15 Onboarding Specialists. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our candidates undergo the necessary clearances and checks with accuracy, efficiency, and a high level of customer care. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the vetting process, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the vetting team, ensuring all team members meet agreed SLAs, key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintainhigh levels of client and employee satisfaction.
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members each morning, ensuring balanced workloads and adherence to timelines. Monitor daily productivity and address any bottlenecks or issues proactively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding escalations, issues, and updates. Build strong relationships to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Keep the team informed of any changes to processes, internal policies, or client updates. Ensure clear, concise communication is maintained within the team.
  • Conduct regular audits of the team's work to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards are upheld. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct one-on-one performance reviews with team members every four weeks, providing constructive feedback, setting development goals, and supporting professional growth.
  • Manage candidate start dates, withdrawals, and payroll amendments through the payroll system, ensuring all changes are processed accurately and on time. Oversee monthly payroll cut-off processes.
  • Lead interviews for new team members and support internal recruitment efforts. Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are set up on Royal Mail systems efficiently.
  • Present regular productivity updates to senior management, highlighting achievements and flagging potential risks, challenges, or issues. Proactively suggest solutions to improve processes and outcomes.

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a team management or supervisory role, ideally within recruitment, HR, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of vetting and clearance processes, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using payroll systems and a good understanding of payroll processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
