A friendly school in Maidenhead are looking for an Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team starting ASAP.

The school:

The school looking to hire a Mental Health Support Assistant are looking for someone to support students with their mental health needs and help manage and regulate their emotions.

This is a school where education is at the basis of everything they do and their core values are rooted in ensuring that children receive the best education possible so that they may be able to flourish and achieve all their goals, both academic and personal.

The role as a Mental Health Support Assistant:

Your main role and responsibility as a mental health support assistant will be o support students with their learning in the classroom. You will assist with bridging any gaps in their development and education, and help with making their learning concrete. You will encourage students to achieve their goals by facilitating a positive and fun learning environment. You will also assist the class teacher with general support in the classroom - this can be helping prepare lessons, tidy up afterwards and provide general supervision over the classroom. You will also be involved in any outdoor activities such as fun lessons or helping with PE.

The successful Mental Health Support Assistant:

Ideally you will have some experience working with children in a classroom setting but this is not essential. You will be patient, proactive and passionate about making a difference. You will be calm and positive - be able to easily build relationships with the children. Most importantly you will understand the importance of Safeguarding and you must have a DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one. If you do not have a DBS Certificate, we will be able to help you obtain one.

This is an excellent opportunity for any individual looking to add valuable experience to their skillset. Aspiring psychologists, counsellors or therapist are encouraged to apply. Graduates as well as those with a background in sports, drama, music or art are most welcome to apply.
