Our client, who specialise in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services, are currently seeking an Import Customs Entries Clerk for their team based in the SS postcode of Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and growing company.
The role of the Import Customs Entries Clerk You will need at least 2 years experience in a similar role.
You will be monitoring and tracking the status of customs clearance processes, providing regular updates to internal teams and customers.
Duties of the Import Customs Entries Clerk:
- Complete customs declarations, ensuring all clearance processes (Import and Export) are complete in a timely manner.
- Process Import / Export declarations.
- Deal with customer enquiries, ensuring you are providing accurate advice and estimates when required.
- Obtain Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff Headings.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other regulatory agencies, to ensure proper and timely submission of customs documentation.
Experience required:
- Experience completing customs entries for a period of 2 years.
- Import experience for a period of 1 year.
- Previous experience checking and processing all relevant documentation for the shipments. Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity working with Freight Forwarders and shipping lines.
- Good understanding of different customs procedures and the requirements.
The successful Import Customs Entries Clerk will have strong knowledge/experience of customs clearances, and experience working within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics industry.
You will need to have working knowledge / experience of CDS and be fully conversant with various customs entries.
Having knowledge of Destin8, CNS, ETSF and CCS-UK would be a strong advantage for this role.
