What you'll do:
As a Senior Underwriter at Aspen Insurance, your role will be pivotal in shaping the success of the portfolio. You will be responsible for performing complex underwriting activities while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying issues and opportunities within your area of specialisation. Building strong relationships with stakeholders will be key to achieving business objectives. You will also contribute significantly to the review and analysis of the portfolio, ensuring that all business is thoroughly evaluated by peer review.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the business plan for the portfolio
- Perform complex underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiency
- Act as a technical expert to support the identification of issues and opportunities within area of expertise
- Establish, develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues
- Underwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and the delegated underwriting authority to meet business objectives
What you bring:
As a Senior Underwriter, you bring substantial experience from an international property facultative environment. You hold specific professional qualifications such as CII. Your experience with risk profiling, pricing tools, and loss models sets you apart. You have established strong relationships with customers/brokers. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate within a team environment.
- Extensive Property Facultative international experience and coming from a Reinsurance background,
- Open to Individuals coming from a Llyod's and Company Market background.
- Good Knowledge of International markets with Europe being a bonus
- Specific professional qualifications (CII)
- Experience in using risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models
- Strong established customer/broker relationships
- Experience of managing underwriting individuals/teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
