We are an education agency representing an excellent Secondary School located in Lambeth. This forward-thinking school is seeking an enthusiastic and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a student who has learning needs and physical disability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a student with learning needs, who is a wheelchair user, focusing on their individual needs and learning goals.
- Assist the student in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Assisting the student with wheelchair access around the school.
- Some basic personal care will be involved.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement strategies to promote the student's social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student's progress and well-being.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with learning needs is essential.
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with special educational needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and differentiate teaching strategies to meet the student's unique requirements.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
