Procurement Manager - Export Strategy & Industrial Participa

Butler Rose is working alongside one of our leading large manufacturing clients who have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Export Strategy & Industrial Participation team.

Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on experience
Location: Stevenage (Relocation package may be available)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2/3 days per week on-site due to workload classification)
Security Clearance: Must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions relating to nationality and rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) as a minimum requirement.

This role involves sourcing, contracting, and supplying bespoke high-value, high-complexity sub-systems essential for delivering world-leading defence capabilities. You will play a crucial role in managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across various levels and regions.

This position offers a unique, fast-paced, and exciting environment, requiring a blend of commercial expertise and strong stakeholder management skills. Youll support business relationships across multiple campaigns, working closely with senior executives, technology transfer delivery managers, and other key teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Industrial Cooperation and Offset:

  • Generate supply chain requests for proposals to support International Industrial Cooperation objectives.
  • Understand requirements and assist in formulating appropriate industrial cooperation strategies.

Export Sales:

  • Organise Quarterly Export Reviews and generate reports for New Business Teams and Senior Leadership.
  • Support export activities that contribute to business success, including collaboration with strategic partners to provide technical and cost information.
  • Ensure commercial positions are protected, including adherence to ethical compliance and approvals.

Functional and Senior Management Support:

  • Organise and manage Quarterly Export Reviews, collating inputs from various teams and arranging guest speakers.
  • Serve as the secretary for Export Approvals reviews, recording approvals and actions.
  • Represent Export Strategy & Industrial Participation in the New Business Community of Purpose.

  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Law, Business, Economics, Commercial, or relevant experience.
  • Experience in contracting, intellectual property identification, and related areas.
  • Understanding of commercial constructs including contracts, requests for quotation, statements of work, and intellectual property valuation and licensing.
  • Project management experience is advantageous but not essential.
