Role Description
We are seeking an experienced QA/Automation Engineer to join our expanding technology team in Manchester, UK. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our award-winning digital platform that supports over businesses.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement test strategies, with a primary focus on automation. You'll help ensure our platform's functionality, performance, and scalability by creating and maintaining automated test scripts while also participating in manual testing when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define test strategies and ensure all requirements are met.
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Implement and maintain test suites for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with developers to resolve issues.
- Conduct manual testing, including exploratory, usability, and ad-hoc testing as needed.
- Continuously improve testing processes to enhance efficiency and test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release management to ensure quality releases.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in software testing and automation.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer or similar role.
- Strong C# coding skills.
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver for end-to-end testing (preferably with C# APIs).
- Hands-on experience in API testing using Postman and BDD frameworks like SpecFlow.
- Ability to test across various devices, including laptops and mobile platforms.
- Experience in preparing test plans, estimation, and reporting.
- Experience writing performance tests to identify and improve platform performance.
- Experience writing component and integration tests to catch issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Git for version control.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and requirement design.
- Experience in manual testing (UAT/System/Regression).
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Blue-Green deployments.
- Experience working in fast-paced IT environments.
- Experience in testing microservices, including unit, integration, load, stress, and security testing.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS).
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and collaborate with colleagues to support business needs.
