Early Career Teacher (ECT)

Are you due to graduate as a teacher in 2024? Are you looking to kick start your career as a teacher and build your knowledge? If so, then Zest Education have a perfect opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a school based in Northfield. Starting in September 2024, you will be able to jump straight into a teaching role on a full-time basis. You will be required to work Monday through to Friday, supporting and teaching across KS1 and KS2. This is an amazing opportunity to build your confidence and teaching skills and gain a long-lasting relationship with a school!

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach lessons and sequences of lessons to the classes you are assigned to teach within the context of the school's curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of the pupils.
  • Set high expectations that motivate, inspire and challenge pupils.
  • Establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
  • Have high expectations for behaviour and promote good behaviour management.
  • Maintain good relationships with staff and pupils and liaise with colleagues, senior leaders and parents.
  • Participate in any relevant meetings/professional development opportunities at the school.

Requirements (you must have):

  • A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • An enhanced DBS or the intention to obtain one.
  • Good subject knowledge and strong understanding of the Key Stage curriculum.
  • Effective communication skills, including verbal, written and active listening skills.
  • Relevant experience in teaching or in an education-based setting.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
