Production Team Leader

We are currently recruiting for a permanent production team leader based in Chepstow

Our client is a busy manufacturing company and as such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team.

Contract: Perm

Shifts: Rotaional

6am-2pm Mon – Thurs and Fri 6am-12pm.

Following week will be 2-11pm Mon – Thurs and Fri 12-6pm

Salary: up to £30,000 P/A DOE

As part of the senior production team the individual will have to drive lean practices and continuous improvement projects, communicate team objectives and set daily goals in line with the company KPI's, the role will have total control over the day to day running of the shift and will need to ensure all team members adhere to the policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Ensure daily start up and Health and Safety checks are carried out meticulously.
  • Oversee day to day production on all rolling lines.
  • Ensure production targets are met by communicating job expectations and appraising job results.
  • Coach team members to improve performance levels and improve skill sets.
  • Coordinate the teams to optimize production output.
  • Ensure that all items assembled on the production line are correct and of the required standard following all quality control checks.
  • Maintain the workflow through monitoring the process, whilst facilitating corrections within the teams.
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to supply reports and updates on Production.
  • Assisting with the recruitment of personnel.
  • Observe and monitor fault finding processes to ensure the correct methods are being used
  • Monitor maintenance and cleaning of equipment when required.
  • Ensure the production area is kept in a clean operative state.
  • To record all production data and update the computer system when required.
  • Record level of consumables i.e., protective tape, printer labels and cardboard.
  • Provide cover for team leaders during holiday periods and prolonged sickness.
  • To be responsible for the security of the building at the end of the shift
  • Any other duties that may be required.

Experience and Competence

Essential

  • CNC or machine Operator Experience
  • Team Leader experience
  • Computer literate
  • Strong supervision skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer focused
  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop
  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Understanding of computer/paper-based production systems
  • Effective coaching skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive and solutions focused
