Finance Manager/ Divisional Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-established privately owned growing SME will has a group turnover of over £50 Million with operations and sites spanning across the globe.

Due to an internal restructure, they currently have a vacancy for a Finance Manager to come in and join them on a permanent basis to work out of their head office location in Chesterfield. This role will provide an all round accounting solution to manage the financials for one of their subsidiaries overseas.

This role will be an ideal move for someone newly qualified out of practice and looking to make their first step into industry. The client will of course also happily consider candidates already working in industry who are newly qualified or late part qualified, dependent on experience.

It will be a varied role with duties to include: -

  • Manage the process of delegating the transactional AP & AR work to the UK based transactions team.

  • Manage all aspects of Accounts Receivable including Debt Collection.

  • Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable

  • Responsible for the Monthly Management Accounts preparation

  • Prepare the Monthly Management Accounts pack consisting of P&L, Balance Sheet, Variance Analysis & Cash flow statement

  • Accurate and timely posting of transactions to Trial Balance

  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet control accounts

  • Providing information and ad-hoc analysis for group reporting purposes

  • Cash and Banking

  • Monthly cash flow forecasting 13 weeks look-forward for UK

  • Liaising with the Bank and external Auditors as required

  • Preparation of reports for the external Auditors to assist audit and tax computations

  • Prepare information for Tax Accountants as required for the annual tax return

  • Ensure all Taxes are paid by the due date as required under US law

  • Assist the group finance function with "digitalising" the bookkeeping process, specifically moving towards a paperless office and automating bookkeeping processes

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experiences: -

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounting or Audit role
  • Diligent, honest, reliable, self-motivated and driven
  • Rigorous financial control
  • Knowledge of UK and International accounting standards
  • Knowledge of Global Tax issues; transfer pricing, VAT, withholding tax
  • UK and International travel will be required (Approx. 2 weeks of the year)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills

Please note the role will be primarily office-based but some flexibility can be offered.
