At Career Teachers we are currently recruiting for a specialist SEN school in Leeds who require additional teaching assistants to join their team from September 2024.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Creating a calm and positive environment for learning, ensuring that all childrens voices are heard
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to make sure that the work day runs smoothly
- Your main responsibility will be to engage the students in learning, ensuring that they have access to the lesson at hand using resources provided.
- Each child will have very different learning methods and ways of accessing learning, therefore you will be responsible for adapting the learning where needed.
- Supporting students emotionally as well academically throughout the school day.
- Managing challenging behaviours and de-escalating situations.
The school caters for students of all ages, ranging from Early Years up to 16+ who have special educational needs, all students have a diagnosis of Autism as well as other needs. The ideal candidate will have some background or knowledge of supporting children and young people with SEND.
