We are delighted to support our client in their search for a dedicated IT professional to step into a sole support role.

Salary:

£30,000 - £35,000

Location:

Gateshead, Team Valley

Hybrid:

Gateshead, Team Valley

Working Hours:

Core hours 09:00 – 16:00 (Monday – Thursday) and 09:00 – 13:00 (Friday). Flexible around these hours to work a 37-hour week, with office access from 07:00 – 17:00.

The company, operating from a single site with around 40 employees and an annual turnover of £5 million, seeks an experienced candidate to oversee and enhance their IT environment, infrastructure, and security.

THE ROLE

As the IT Support Specialist, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a crucial role in managing and optimising the company's IT operations. This role is perfect for someone with at least 3 years of experience in IT support, ideally some in a similar sole support capacity. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the IT infrastructure, ensuring cybersecurity, and supporting the strategic IT needs of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive IT Support: Handle end-to-end support for all IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • System Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance and timely upgrades of all IT systems to ensure efficiency and security.
  • Cybersecurity Management: Implement and monitor measures to protect the company's data and IT infrastructure from threats.
  • User Support and Training: Provide technical support for employees' daily IT queries and conduct training sessions to enhance their IT proficiency.
  • Strategic IT Planning: Support with developing and executing strategic IT plans aligned with the company's goals, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party suppliers for hardware, software licenses, and support contracts to ensure cost-effective and timely service.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations, and create/update knowledge bases for streamlined problem resolution.
  • Incident Response and Problem Resolution: Lead the response to IT incidents, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
