We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for our client, a leading organisation in the food industry. As the Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of warehouse performance and driving high standards within the team. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring strong leadership skills and operational expertise.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Successfully delivering the Warehouse Business Plan and efficiently managing all inbound, outbound, and internal activity.
- Demonstrating strong leadership presence and actively supporting Zone Managers in driving performance.
- Defining and implementing weekly reporting mechanisms to drive performance and actions.
- Chairing performance review meetings and cascading relevant information to the Operations Manager.
- Driving consistent working practises, targets, and KPIs throughout the Warehouse.
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture and actively mitigating risks.
- Overseeing all Warehouse-related SOPs and ensuring compliance.
- Managing and addressing disciplinary, performance, and grievance issues.
- Assessing skill gaps and identifying training solutions to address operational requirements.
- Collaborating with HR to manage talent and succession planning.
- Working with the Planning Manager to determine resource requirements and gain budget approval.
- Defining and driving effective communication strategies and engagement initiatives.
- Acting as a company representative during site visits and audits.
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience leading, motivating, and developing teams in a 24/7 operational environment. Previous experience in fast-moving warehousing, preferably in the food industry, is desirable. Strong change management skills, lean/continuous improvement knowledge, and budget management experience are also required.
