We invite applications for a Lecturer in History and Politics in a Further Education Provider. Our Sixth Form is celebrated for its strong results, placing us in the top 10% of colleges nationally for A level progress. History and Politics are standout subjects within our curriculum, with students achieving high grades consistently. We follow the Pearson Edexcel specifications for these subjects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in AS and A level History and Politics, as well as GCSE History, adhering to the Pearson Edexcel specifications.
  • Engage and motivate young people aged 16-19 through innovative and effective teaching practices.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Participate in curriculum development and departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high educational standards.
  • Support students in their academic growth and development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in History, Politics, or a closely related subject.
  • Teaching experience up to A level in the subject area, with a proven track record of excellent teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification if not already obtained (support provided by the College).
