Our client are an established UK & European Logistics Solutions Provider, who due to expansion have an exciting new opportunity available for a Transport Planner, excellent career progression is available with this growing Company.
The successful Transport Planner will have some previous experience of UK Transport movements and come from a freight/logistics industry.
Requirements and Responsibilities
- To route plan available vehicles to meet the collections and deliveries in the UK.
- To allocate available resources the most appropriate staff members to crew the vehicles.
- Ensure that all collection and delivery notes provide sufficient information for appropriate allocation to vehicles, also that they contain the information required by road crews to complete the tasks correctly.
- Liaise and be the point of contact for all UK road crews, responding to any queries that arise and seek solutions to any difficulties that may arise.
- Liaise with customers, collection and delivery destinations where required to ensure accuracy, efficiency within the transport operation.
- Ensuring that vehicles and drivers operate within the relevant rules and regulations as they may apply.
- Ensure that colleagues and appropriately informed of costs, delays or variations etc. incurred to the original information / expectation
- Previous UK Transport planning from a within a Freight/Logistics industry is essential
- Excellent UK Geographical knowledge
- Excellent English verbal & written communication skills
- Car Driver with own transport
- Able to work as part of a team of 3
- Working closely with warehouse department
- Dealing with general cargo, "white glove" traffic, installations, technical logistics, bespoke logistics
The ideal candidate would have similar experience in these tasks working a Freight forwarder or Logistics Provider. All levels of experience will be considered and appropriate training given where needed, salary will reflect knowledge.

- Salary £28-32k DOE
- 20 days holiday plus BH
