Job Title: Senior Support Worker - Residential Specialist School
Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £13.05 - £13.65 per hour (£27,144 - £28,392 per annum) dependent on qualifications
Hours: Full time - you will be working on a 4 week rota pattern, working 40 hours per week.

We are currently seeking Senior Support Workers with a Level 3 NVQ to join an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities based in Meldreth, Hertfordshire.

The role:

Your role will be to provide support to the Team Leaders and Care Managers in managing, motivating and coaching a team of support workers to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first.

You'll provide appropriate physical and emotional support to the young people through the work of the care team within a residential environment and with off-site activities.

As our shift leader you'll be expected to support the induction of new team members and their continued mentoring and development towards QCF and other mandatory training.

You'll also be expected to take an active role in ensuring that activities are completed and effectively delegated and day-to-day implementation of young people's individual program plans are carried out efficiently with adequate cover available at all times.

Experience /Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma / NVQ in Health and Social Care or Residential Care
  • A robust, positive and creative approach in meeting the needs of children and young adults.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
  • High level of resilience and patience
  • The ability to follow personal care routines
  • The ability to work within a rota pattern that typically requires working every other weekend.
