Job Title: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85–£105 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming secondary school in Bedford is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team this September.
**The Role:
As a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work collaboratively with class teachers and the school's SEN department to help students access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support in class and during intervention sessions
- Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships with peers
- Support students during transitions between lessons and around the school site
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and well-being to the SENCO and teaching staff
**The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school or similar setting
- A proactive, calm, and empathetic approach to working with young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and differentiated learning
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
